Cardboard Camera

Shared by a press member of a recent event in Milan, IKEA gave out this cardboard disposable camera in its press kit to give attendees a preview of its next possible product. The camera uses two AA batteries and can store up to 40 pictures max. Just like the classic Kodak disposable camera, it’s also got a button to charge up a flash for photos in low light. To upload the photos onto your computer, a USB stick swings out of the upper corner.

The cardboard body makes it fragile especially on rainy days or in humid climates were the structural integrity would weaken substantially. Most tech website can't figure out who this product will be marketed to because regular digital camera are relatively low in price have a good life span. Is their a need for a disposable digital camera> IKEA hasn't released a price for this product yet or given any indication when it will be sold and where.

There are times when I am in a situation where I would like my Nikon to stay at home. I see this camera as a good backup when you're in a situation where you can damage your hundred dollar or more point-and-shoot.

Would anyone buy this ?
